About this board game

Fireteam Zero is a cooperative squad-tactics and horror board game for 1–4 players, with an average play time of 90 minutes. Set in 1942, it follows four soldiers fighting in secret against terrifying supernatural enemies after vanishing from the training program of the First Ranger Battalion.

Each player controls a soldier with a unique deck of brutal combat skills. Play cards to attack monsters, protect teammates, or reshape the battlefield with explosive ordinance. Every card also represents health, creating a tense choice: spend too many and you become vulnerable, but hold back too long and the creatures may overwhelm your team.

Players must search for and complete mission objectives while battling an endless swarm of deadly monsters. The campaign’s three maps increase in difficulty, bringing stronger enemies and more dangerous challenges. Two NPC Specialists can aid the squad, but their abilities must be used wisely if the team hopes to succeed.

  • Cooperative tactics: Coordinate actions and make the most of limited cards.
  • Escalating horror: Monster Twist cards give enemies new and terrible aspects as time passes.
  • Story-driven missions: Complete objectives across maps and work toward a final showdown.
  • Flexible play: Each map can be played separately in about 45 minutes, or combined into an Operation of roughly three hours.

Each mission set introduces a different family of horrifying creatures, complete with distinctive abilities and twist cards. The Africa Cycle adds the Thornspawn, Gear, new Specialist content, and the three-Act Operation Sticks and Bones. The Europe Cycle introduces the Bloodless, Specialist decks, and the three-Act Operation The Dead of Winter.

With its hand-management system, tactical teamwork, escalating enemies, and story-rich missions, Fireteam Zero turns every decision into a fight for survival.
