ALIEN: Fate of the Nostromo

About this board game

ALIEN: Fate of the Nostromo is a 1–5 player board game with a playing time of about 60 minutes, released in 2021. Players take the roles of Ripley, Lambert, Parker, Brett, or Dallas as they work through the Nostromo, gathering resources and trying to survive encounters with the Alien.

Each turn is divided into two phases. During the Crew Action phase, players move through the ship’s halls, collect scrap, craft items, trade scrap and items with other players, and use their equipment and special abilities. Character abilities give each crew member a distinct way to contribute; for example, Brett can craft items using one fewer scrap than other players.

The Encounter phase follows, with players drawing and resolving an Encounter card. The Alien may be waiting around any corner, and the crew’s morale can rise or fall as different situations unfold. If morale reaches zero, the players lose the game.

• Play as Ripley, Lambert, Parker, Brett, or Dallas.
• Collect scrap, craft items, trade resources, and use special abilities.
• Complete initial objectives before facing one of five final missions.
• Fulfill the final mission’s requirements simultaneously to win.

Once the initial objectives are complete, the crew must tackle one of five final missions, each with its own requirements. Players must meet those requirements at the same time to secure victory.

For a greater challenge, ALIEN: Fate of the Nostromo can include Science Officer Ash. Ash moves through the ship, removes scrap, and forces the crew to lose morale, adding another threat to an already dangerous mission.
