About this board game
Sorcerer City is a competitive city-building board game for 1–6 players, lasting about 60 minutes, in which rival wizard architects construct and rebuild a magical district over five years.
Every year, the city changes in strange and unpredictable ways, with blocks moving and rotating in crazy directions. Each player begins with a personal set of tiles and has just two minutes in every round to build a city as optimally as possible.
Speed and planning are essential as you expand your district and seek to earn money, influence, magic, and victory. Between rounds, you buy new tiles to add to your pool and gain other rewards, giving you more options for future construction.
- Build a city under a strict two-minute time limit.
- Buy new tiles between rounds to expand your building pool.
- Manage monsters that enter your deck and disrupt later plans.
- Compete across five rounds to earn the most victory points.
There is one major threat to your ambitions: Sorcerer City has a monster problem. Marauding creatures attack your district, and monster cards added to your deck can bring additional chaos in later rounds. You must work hard to mitigate their effects while continuing to develop your city.
After the fifth round, players add up their victory points. The wizard architect with the highest total becomes the new head wizard of all Sorcerer City, proving they have mastered the challenge of fast, flexible, and magical urban construction.
