About this expansion
Sid Meier’s Civilization: The Board Game – Fame and Fortune is an expansion for 2–5 players, with games lasting about 180 minutes. Released in 2011, it adds new options and enhancements for guiding your people to greatness.
Four new civilizations join the game: the Arabs, Spanish, Greeks, and Indians. Each provides another choice for players seeking to lead a civilization, while components for a fifth player expand the experience beyond its original player count.
The expansion also introduces a new deck of Great Person cards. These cards let players recruit the aid of specific historical figures, including Joan of Arc, Marco Polo, Hannibal, and Gustavus Adolphus, adding more notable personalities to the path toward greatness.
Fame and Fortune further broadens the game with new map tiles, technology cards, and culture event cards. Its investment deck gives players cards that let them spend their hard-earned coin to gain ongoing benefits.
