About this expansion

Dixit: Revelations is a 2016 expansion for Dixit that supports 3–6 players and plays in about 30 minutes. It adds 84 beautifully illustrated cards filled with mysterious, enchanting imagery from French illustrator Marina Coudray.

Inspired by early twentieth-century design, including Art Deco and Surrealism, the artwork combines stylized forms with allusions to ancient myths and folk tales. Its visual influences echo Picasso, Magritte, Matisse, Escher, Greek myth, Indian religion, pop music, internet memes, New York City architecture, and Tiffany lamps.

In each round of Dixit, one player becomes the Storyteller. They choose a card from their hand and give a clue by telling a story, singing a ditty, or doing something else associated with the image. Every other player secretly submits a card from their own hand that matches the clue in their opinion.

The submitted cards are shuffled and revealed, then players vote for the card they believe the Storyteller played. The Storyteller scores no points if nobody or everybody identifies the correct card. If the Storyteller receives some, but not all, of the votes, they score based on the votes received; players also score when they choose correctly or when another player votes for their submitted card.

  • 84 new cards for use with Dixit
  • Art influenced by Art Deco, Surrealism, myths, religion, and popular culture
  • Storytelling, deduction, secret submissions, and voting
  • A play time of approximately 30 minutes

After a certain number of rounds, the player with the most points wins. With its distinctive visual style and layered references, Dixit: Revelations invites players to look beyond first impressions and discover what may be hidden between—or behind—the lines.
