Dixit: Daydreams

About this expansion

Dixit: Daydreams is an expansion for Dixit that adds 84 new cards to the imaginative storytelling and voting game for 3–6 players, with play lasting about 30 minutes.

In Dixit, one player becomes the Storyteller each round. They choose a card from their hand and give a clue connected to it, whether by telling a story, singing a ditty, or doing something else they associate with the image.

Every other player then selects a card from their own hand and secretly gives it to the Storyteller. All submitted cards are shuffled and revealed, creating a group of possible answers. Players vote for the card they believe was originally played by the Storyteller.

• Choose a card and create an associated clue.
• Submit cards in secret to challenge the group.
• Vote on which revealed card belongs to the Storyteller.
• Score points for correct votes and for attracting votes to your submitted card.

The scoring rewards clues that are neither too obvious nor too difficult to identify. If nobody or everybody selects the Storyteller’s card, the Storyteller receives no points. When the card receives some, but not all, of the votes, the Storyteller scores according to the number of votes received; players also score when they choose correctly or when another player votes for their card.

After a certain number of rounds, the player with the most points wins. With its 84 new cards, Dixit: Daydreams provides additional material for the association, deception, and group voting at the heart of Dixit.
