About this expansion

Memoir ’44: Campaign Book Volume 1 is a World War II campaign expansion for 2–8 players, with scenarios designed for approximately 40 minutes of play.

Relive three major theaters of operations through more than 50 new scenarios and advanced campaign rules. The campaigns cover the Battle for Normandy in the summer of 1944, the Blitzkrieg to the West in 1940, and Operation Barbarossa on the Russian Front in 1941.

Instead of treating every battle as an isolated contest, the campaign system lets you play scenarios in succession. The outcome of each battle affects what follows: victories move you closer to success, while defeats can cause temporary setbacks—or even a complete rout of your army.

  • More than 50 new scenarios across three World War II theaters
  • Campaign rules linking battles into connected sequences
  • Victory and defeat effects that shape the continuing campaign
  • Campaigns inspired by Normandy, the 1940 Western Blitzkrieg, and the 1941 invasion of the Soviet Union

Take the role of a commander such as Montgomery, attempt to drive the Allies back to the sea, unleash German Panzers across Belgium and France, or advance into the frozen steppes of the Soviet empire. The campaign structure gives each engagement a broader strategic context.

The Normandy campaign can be played without expansions. The Blitzkrieg to the West and Operation Barbarossa campaigns require tiles from the Memoir ’44: Terrain Pack and Memoir ’44: Eastern Front. One of the twelve campaigns also requires the Memoir ’44: Air Pack, which is recommended but not required for the others. Memoir ’44: Campaign Book Volume 1 was released in 2009.
