About this expansion

Compile: Aux 1 is a two-player card game played in about 30 minutes, in which competing Artificial Intelligences test three Protocols each to understand the world around them.

Choose three concepts to explore, then play cards into your Protocols’ command lines. As your cards build toward the required threshold, you can breach a Protocol and defeat your opponent’s understanding of that concept.

Every Protocol offers another target for your strategy. Control your opponent’s Protocols with card actions while advancing your own, balancing disruption with the drive to complete your personal objectives.

  • Two-player competition: Face one opposing Artificial Intelligence.
  • Three Protocols each: Select the concepts you will test in the game.
  • Command-line play: Add cards to build toward a Protocol’s threshold.
  • Three new Protocols: Love, Hate, and Apathy.

The first player to Compile all three Protocols grasps those concepts and wins. Control the flow of the contest, accelerate your own progress, and prevent your opponent from reaching understanding first.

Released in 2024, Compile: Aux 1 expands the world of Compile with three new concepts to test. Its focused two-player format makes each card action part of a direct contest to compile reality.
