About this expansion

Alhambra: The Thief’s Turn is a 2005 expansion for Alhambra, supporting 2–6 players with a play time of about 60 minutes.

Known as the third Alhambra expansion, it is a collection of four separate modules. Mix and match them with the base game in any combination, allowing each game to add a different selection of rules and components.

  • Change: When you overpay for a building, receive part of the difference back as coins. These coins can be used like normal money cards.
  • The Thieves: Players receive thief cards at the beginning of the game. Thieves let players take available money cards out of turn.
  • The Walls: Wooden walls become available. To build one, first obtain an appropriate wall card from the money deck, then use it to extend city walls or close existing holes.
  • The Traveling Merchant: Meeples can populate buildings in your Alhambra. These new residents provide extra points during scoring rounds, while merchant tiles encourage planning your city layout in advance.

The modules introduce additional ways to manage money, claim cards, develop walls, and prepare your city for scoring. Because they can be combined freely, you can choose which additions best suit your next Alhambra game.

Whether you want coins to soften overpayments, thieves to interrupt the usual money-card order, walls to reshape your city, or residents to reward careful planning, Alhambra: The Thief’s Turn expands the base game with four distinct options.
