Splendor: The Silk Road

About this expansion

Splendor: The Silk Road is a 2024 game module set for 2–4 players, with games lasting around 30 minutes. It adds two ways to flavor your Splendor games: The Cities and The Trading Posts.

In The Cities module, noble tiles are replaced by three city tiles. These tiles are selected randomly from a pool of 14, giving each game a different set of objectives. Each city tile presents a victory condition based on prestige points, development cards, or both.

To win with this module in play, you must fulfill one of the available city objectives. This creates new victory conditions for every game and gives the city tiles a central role in your pursuit of prestige.

The Trading Posts module rewards you for acquiring an array of development cards. As you meet the requirements for these special bonuses, you gain access to unique powers that can improve the value of your actions and help you maximize your prestige.

• The Cities: Replace noble tiles with three randomly selected city objectives from a pool of 14.
• The Trading Posts: Earn special bonuses by acquiring an array of development cards.
• Changing advantages: Trading Post powers include gaining more prestige points from the first noble tile you receive or taking an extra token when choosing to take two gem tokens of the same color.

With its alternative objectives and special bonuses, Splendor: The Silk Road adds new ways to approach development cards, noble tiles, gem tokens, and prestige. Use either module to give your next game a distinct focus.
