About this expansion

Dune: Ecaz & Moritani is a 2023 expansion for DUNE: The Board Game, adding two Houses and new mechanics for 2–6 players in a 180-minute game.

House Ecaz is ruled by Archduke Armand Ecaz, a leader well respected in the Landsraad. He seeks to strengthen his standing by forging lasting alliances, bringing a focus on relationships and cooperation to the conflict.

House Moritani is led by the ruthless and cunning Viscount Hundro Moritani. The Moritanis use terror tactics to conquer their enemies, including assassination, sneak attacks, and sabotage.

Alongside these Houses, the expansion introduces three new game mechanics that broaden the possibilities on the board:

• Homeworlds: Conduct raids on other factions’ homeworlds and interfere with their advantages.
• Nexus Cards: Gain incentives and special effects for choosing not to join an alliance.
• Discovery Tokens: Add new elements to sections of the board that are often bypassed and see little action.

These additions give the expansion a distinct place in the wider DUNE: The Board Game experience. Ecaz and Moritani offer contrasting identities, while Homeworlds, Nexus Cards, and Discovery Tokens introduce new considerations for alliances, raids, and neglected areas of the board.
