About this expansion

Great Western Trail: 13th Building Tile is a promotional addition for 2–4 players, with a listed play time of 150 minutes. Released in 2019, it adds one new two-sided building tile in each player color to the existing building tiles of that color.

Each of the four identical 13a/b tiles offers two distinct building options. The 13a side focuses on cattle, private buildings, and auxiliary actions. To use it, discard exactly one gray cattle, identified as “Jersey,” and perform one single auxiliary action.

The 13a option also includes the action to place one of your private buildings onto a building space on the trail. This placement has a specific cost: for every craftsman needed for that building tile, you must pay 1 dollar.

The 13b side takes a different approach, rewarding progress at train stations. Gain twice as many dollars as you have discs on train stations, then perform one single or one double auxiliary action.

  • Four identical 13a/b building tiles, with one in each player color
  • 13a: discard exactly one gray “Jersey” cattle and perform one single auxiliary action
  • 13a: place a private building on the trail, paying 1 dollar per required craftsman
  • 13b: gain twice the number of dollars represented by your discs on train stations
  • 13b: perform one single or one double auxiliary action

With its two contrasting sides, Great Western Trail: 13th Building Tile provides a choice between a cattle-based building placement effect and station-based income. Add the tile to the matching color’s existing building tiles to bring this promotional content into play.
