About this expansion

Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game – Secrets of Arkham is a deluxe expansion for 2 players, offering approximately 30 minutes of play and opening new deckbuilding possibilities.

This expansion broadens the game with additional support for the Deep One, Mi-Go, and other subtypes. These cards create new “tribal” synergy options, giving players more ways to shape decks around shared characteristics. The set also expands support for the Day and Night mechanism.

Secrets of Arkham introduces a collection of versatile neutral cards designed to fit into many different kinds of decks. Cards such as Diseased Sewer Rats and Feint are highlighted as important additions to the new metagame, offering useful options beyond faction-specific strategies.

  • New support for Deep One, Mi-Go, and other subtypes
  • Additional Day and Night cards
  • Utility neutral cards for a wide range of decks
  • A ten-card story deck with large global effects

The included story deck can be used in place of the story deck from the Call of Cthulhu Core Set. Its stories feature powerful global effects that players will work hard to trigger—or prevent from happening—adding a new layer of tension to the game.

The first edition, released in 2010, included two copies each of fifty different cards: six unique cards for each faction and eight neutral cards. The 2013 edition includes three copies of every card and incorporates current errata, making this version a more complete option for expanding Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game.
