Santa Maria: Exploration Deck is a 2019 mini expansion for 1–4 players, designed for games lasting about 90 minutes. It adds nationality cards and achievement cards that give each player a distinct starting point and new goals to pursue.

The expansion includes five nationality cards. These cards override the standard setup of resources and coins, creating a unique starting position for each player who receives one. This provides an alternative way to begin the game while keeping the setup differences clearly defined by the cards.
