The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – Nightmare Deck: Journey Along the Anduin is a Nightmare Mode deck for 1–2 players, with a playing time of about 60 minutes, released in 2013.

Designed for players who want to revisit a familiar scenario under tougher conditions, this deck casts Journey Along the Anduin in a darker light. It introduces alternate encounter cards that reshape the scenario’s encounter deck, creating a more terrifying journey through territory players thought they knew.

Nightmare Decks are built around challenging versions of scenarios from The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game. Expect deadlier enemies, darker locations, and more frightening surprises as new twists and turns put players on the edge of their seats.

• Twenty new encounter cards for the matching original quest
• A Nightmare Mode card explaining which older cards are removed from the original setup
• An additional card providing rules for using the deck

To use the deck, players follow the included Nightmare Mode instructions to alter the original scenario’s setup and encounter deck. The result is a fresh challenge that transforms a known adventure without losing its connection to the original quest.

Journey Along the Anduin was part of the Game Night Kit S1-2013. Nightmare Decks first appeared in FFG’s Game Night Kits, which were available to retail outlets, and were later released as print-on-demand items.
