About this expansion
Tsukuyumi: Sentinels is a game-changing faction for 3–5 players, with an approximate play time of 150 minutes. These mystic warriors return from the Jade Kingdom to protect Earth from the Oni, pursuing a holy quest shaped by ancient magic, camouflage, and specialized technology.
The Sentinels have a unique winning condition: if no Oni remain on the board, they immediately win. This applies whether they destroy the final Oni themselves or another player does. When this victory occurs, no score points are counted. If the game ends while any Oni remain, the Sentinels instead receive score points for the Oni units they killed.
Rather than establishing a homezone, the faction places six portal markers. New Sentinel units may be placed beside these portals, and Sentinel units can move from one portal area to another of the same kind for only one movement point. This gives their deployment and movement a distinctive structure throughout the game.
- Six jade portals replace the usual homezone.
- Portal-to-portal movement costs one movement point.
- Every unit has at least one exact copy in play as camouflage.
- The Sentinels win immediately when all Oni are gone.
Each unit’s two standees can move separately and are both treated as real. Only when a battle begins must the Sentinel player decide which standee represents the actual unit. With warriors that can hide in plain sight, Tsukuyumi: Sentinels adds uncertainty and a completely different objective to the wider game.
