About this expansion

Wing Leader: Legends 1937-1945 is a two-player expansion for GMT’s Wing Leader system, bringing together previous games and expansions in crossover scenarios covering air combat from the beginning to the very end of World War II.

Legends highlights some of the smaller air forces and less familiar campaigns of the period. Scenarios include the Chinese over Nanking, the Yugoslavs over Belgrade, the Bulgarian defense of Sofia, and the last battles of the Regia Aeronautica over Sicily and Calabria. China and France receive new scenarios, while the Pacific and Eastern Front return with matchups such as Italians against Soviets and the famous Battle of the Bismarck Sea.

The expansion adds new aircraft ranging from the obscure Yugoslav IK-3 interceptor to the American P-26 “Peashooter.” Italian additions include the G.55 fighter and the Z.1007 bomber, expanding the range of aircraft represented in the Wing Leader system.

A complete campaign system recreates the desperate air battles over Kursk in the summer of 1943. Alongside the campaign rules and scenario book, the box includes campaign materials, counters, and Aircraft Data Cards.
