About this expansion

Eschaton: Sigils of Ruin is an expansion for Eschaton for 2–6 players, with a playing time of approximately 180 minutes. Before the great battle at the end of days, each player chooses one of six special characters to serve as a champion for their cult deck.

Champions play alongside the other cultists, but each one guides the deck’s overall play style according to their affiliation. This choice establishes a distinct direction for the cult as it prepares to carry out its rituals and pursue its own path toward the end times.

Every champion is partnered with a corresponding avatar. Through ritual invocations based on the champion’s affiliation, the cult can eventually summon this avatar to join its deck. These avatars are powerful characters, but they also provide the direct route to the expansion’s defining objective: the Sigils of Ruin.

  • Choose one of six special champions for your cult deck.
  • Use affiliation-based ritual invocations to summon a corresponding avatar.
  • Sacrifice the avatar to channel an immovable Sigil of Ruin.
  • Gain unique abilities and pursue a corresponding victory condition.

Once an avatar has served its purpose on the mortal plane, it can be sacrificed to channel the cult’s corresponding sigil. When conjured, a sigil becomes an immovable aura that grants its cult unique abilities and a distinctive victory condition.

No two paths through Sigils of Ruin are the same, yet every path demands equal favor from the Dark One. Released in 2017, this expansion adds champions, avatars, affiliations, and new objectives to the Eschaton experience.
