Holotype: Mesozoic Europe

About this expansion

Holotype: Mesozoic Europe is an expansion for 2–5 players with an approximately 100-minute play time, adding a new continent of dinosaurs, marine reptiles, and pterosaurs to the Holotype experience.

This supplement also introduces Crurotarsi, a new specimen type representing ancient crocs. The expansion brings new ways to develop your game through Focus Boards, Bone Beds, and additional Milestones, with content that can be used alongside Europe or North America.

• Focus Boards: Give each player unique starting bonuses and small goals to complete during the game. Completing them provides immediate rewards and extra Victory Points at the end.
• Bone Beds: New cards gained through Field Expedition cards. They let players return to a discovered location on a later turn to extract a guaranteed type and amount of fossils.
• New Milestones: Three additional Milestones and new Variants can be used with any version of Holotype.

With its European fossil discoveries and new Crurotarsi content, Holotype: Mesozoic Europe expands the range of specimens and objectives available during play. Focus Boards add player-specific goals, while Bone Beds create planned opportunities to revisit locations and collect fossils later.

The core Holotype: Mesozoic North America game is required to use this expansion. Holotype: Mesozoic Europe is a game supplement and cannot be played by itself. Released in 2024, it is designed to add new options to your existing Holotype games.
