About this expansion

Horizons: Extermination is a 2019 addition for Horizons that supports 2–5 players and has a listed play time of 100 minutes. It introduces new alien species, alternate beginnings, and new stars to discover across the galaxy.

The expansion adds five Viliox Alien Ally cards, giving players the opportunity to exploit the Viliox species to destroy their foes. Their arrival brings themes of conflict, destruction, and extermination to Horizons, offering a more aggressive direction for games that use this new content.

For players who prefer a different opening, five alternate Starter Ally cards add variety to the beginning of Horizons. You can instead befriend one of these new starting ally species and use that choice as you set out to explore the galaxy’s newly discovered stars.

  • Five Viliox Alien Ally cards focused on conflict and destruction
  • Five alternate Starter Ally cards for greater variety at the beginning of the game
  • Six alternate Star tiles with special powers, benefits, and constraints

The six alternate Star tiles expand the possibilities of exploration with their own special powers, benefits, and constraints. Together, these components offer new ways to approach the galaxy, from pursuing the destructive potential of the Viliox to forming alliances and exploring unfamiliar stars.

Whether you want to add more variation to the start of a game or introduce a sharper conflict between alien species, Horizons: Extermination expands the Horizons experience with focused new cards and tiles.
