About this expansion

Escape: Zombie City – Expansion 1: The Survivor Chronicles is a 2–4-player expansion with approximately 20 minutes of play time, released in 2015. It adds two modular ways to change your escape from the undead: challenging tasks in the city and unique survivor characters.

Use the first module to place new challenge tiles in the city. Before escaping, players must complete the tasks they encounter, creating new obstacles and objectives during the game. These challenges can be used separately or together with the character module.

• Rock concert: defeat a zombie horde.
• Retirement home: escort Grandpa to the church.
• Barricade: clear the road.
• Workshop: drive the van to the workshop and fix it.
• The pit: consume the energy drink and pill bottle, then fix the hole in the road.
• Circus: have all players visit the circus and draw a card.

The second module introduces distinctive characters, including the tough policeman, clever nerd, fearless grandma, shopping queen, vendor, and construction worker. At the beginning of the game, each player receives a character and chooses one of that character’s two unique powers to use throughout the game, giving them a special edge against the undead.

With its flexible modules, The Survivor Chronicles lets you tailor each game toward tougher objectives, special abilities, or both at once. The expansion contains the rules, six challenge tiles, four challenge tokens, twelve Character cards, and character figures with bases, adding new variety to Escape: Zombie City.
