About this expansion

War of the Ring: Kings and Lords of Middle-Earth – Limited Edition is a deluxe expansion for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. It combines the complete content of Kings of Middle-earth and Lords of Middle-earth for War of the Ring Second Edition.

This limited edition expands the struggle for Middle-earth with new personalities, rules, cards, miniatures, and Action dice. The two expansions can be played together or independently, opening fresh strategic possibilities while adding greater presence to important figures previously represented only by Event Cards.

  • Lords of Middle-earth: introduces Elrond, Galadriel, Sméagol, Gothmog, the Balrog of Moria, and alternate versions of Gandalf, the Witch-king, and the Mouth of Sauron.
  • Kings of Middle-earth: adds Free Peoples Sovereigns such as Brand, Dáin Ironfoot, Denethor, Théoden, and Thranduil, along with the Shadow’s Dark Chieftains: the Black Serpent, the Shadow of Mirkwood, and Uglúk.
  • Includes special Action Dice, new Companion versions for the optional Council of Rivendell rules, Hunt and Stronghold tiles, the Treebeard promo, The Seeing-stones promo card set, and a special version of The Fate of Erebor.

The upgraded presentation includes a hot-foil printed, embossed box with magnetic opening, two separate perfect-bound rulebooks, textured covers, and overlays compatible with standard and deluxe game boards. It also includes hand-painted miniatures, including Treebeard and alternate versions of the Free Peoples sovereigns.

With a total print run of 2,000 copies, War of the Ring: Kings and Lords of Middle-Earth – Limited Edition is a premium collection for dedicated players and collectors. It is not a complete game: a copy of War of the Ring – Second Edition or the Collector’s Edition is required to play.
