Gutenberg: Yolande & Johannes Promo Characters

About this expansion

Gutenberg: Yolande & Johannes Promo Characters is a 2021 promotional set for 1–4 players, with games of Gutenberg listed at 120 minutes. It adds two extra character tiles to the game: Yolande Bonhomme and Johannes Oporinus.

First given to everyone who bought the game at Spiel 2021 in Essen, this set offers two additional character options with distinct effects. Each tile introduces a different way to approach one aspect of play.

• Yolande Bonhomme: You only play 5 guilders for every type of letter block you buy.
• Johannes Oporinus: You start the game with 2 personal patronage cards, chosen out of 4, which you can fulfill as your patronage action.

Yolande Bonhomme focuses on the cost of acquiring letter blocks, applying the same stated payment of 5 guilders for every type of letter block purchased. Johannes Oporinus instead changes your starting resources by giving you a choice of personal patronage cards before the game begins.

These promo characters provide extra variety when setting up Gutenberg, while keeping their effects clearly defined on dedicated tiles. Choose between Yolande’s letter-block purchasing rule and Johannes’s selection of personal patronage cards to add one of two different character abilities to your game.

Whether you received the set at Spiel 2021 or are looking to complete your Gutenberg collection, Gutenberg: Yolande & Johannes Promo Characters brings two additional characters to the table in a compact promotional expansion.
