About this expansion

Agents of SMERSH: Secret Mission Cards is a Secret Mission card option for 1–5 players, with a playing time of 90 minutes and a 2014 release year.

These cards can replace the use of Fate Cards as Secret Missions. Each Secret Mission card contains specific text explaining what the player must do to complete the mission at its designated location.

The cards give players a clear objective to pursue while visiting the relevant location. Rather than relying on a general replacement system, each card remains in play as a distinct mission with its own instructions and reward.

  • Use Secret Mission cards in place of Fate Cards.
  • Follow the specific requirements written on each card.
  • Receive a reward for every Secret Mission card.
  • Choose a card-based way to remove an unwanted Status card.

Secret Mission cards also offer a useful alternative when a player needs to deal with an unwanted Status card. A player may ignore the reward—or suffer the penalty—from a Secret Mission card to remove that unwanted Status card.

Unlike Fate Cards, Secret Mission cards do not get replaced. This difference gives the mission system a distinct rhythm: players work with the cards available to them, weigh the stated reward or penalty, and decide when completing or resolving a mission is most valuable.

For groups seeking clearly written objectives and meaningful choices around rewards, penalties, and Status cards, Agents of SMERSH: Secret Mission Cards provides a focused alternative to Fate Cards while preserving the importance of designated locations.
