Flames of War: Ostfront – Eastern Front 1942-1943

About this expansion

Flames of War: Ostfront – Eastern Front 1942-1943 is a two-player board game with an approximately 120-minute play time, focused on the escalating conflict between the Axis invaders and the Soviet Red Army.

The seemingly unstoppable German Blitzkrieg has been checked after threatening to overwhelm the ill-prepared Red Army during the first year of the war. Newly raised Soviet divisions now launch increasingly bold counterattacks, while Axis forces race to reinforce the hard-pressed front line.

This volume explores the Ostfront, or Eastern Front, known to the Soviets as the Great Patriotic War. It presents the campaign’s history and the widening struggle that became the greatest conflict in human history, alongside the organizations needed to represent forces on both sides.
