1822 Scotland Medium Regional and North Regional scenario board set is a reduced-map scenario for 1822: Railways of Great Britain, supporting 3–7 players and lasting approximately 240 minutes.
The board covers the northern part of the 1822 map, from Birmingham northwards, with Wales and London represented as off-board locations. Set in the age of steam, the game places players in the roles of railway investors, who operate railway companies with the aim of maximising their own wealth.
The scenario uses the basic rules of 1822 with a number of small changes. Its different setup removes selected private companies, minors, majors, and tiles, creating a slightly shorter game while focusing play on the northern regions.
The companies and private interests included in this scenario are specifically limited to the following selections:
- Privates: P1–P21, except P5, P10, and P17
- Minors: 1–10, 15, 16, and 26–29
- Majors removed: GWR, LBSCR, SECR, and SWR
These changes provide a distinct regional presentation of the 1822 system without replacing its core rules. Released in 2021, 1822 Scotland Medium Regional and North Regional scenario board set offers a more contained way to experience railway investment and company operation within the northern section of the wider game.
