About this board game

20 Second Showdown is a fast-paced team game for 5–20 players, built around ridiculous challenges and a twenty-second sand timer. Players split into two teams and sit opposite each other for a face-off packed with urgency.

Each round begins with one player serving as the referee. The referee resets the timer with an even amount of sand in each half, reads the challenges aloud, and flips the timer to start the action.

Everyone else works to complete challenges as quickly as possible. When a team finishes its challenge, the referee flips the timer, putting pressure on the opposing team to act before its sand runs out.

• Choose one player to referee each contest.
• Split the remaining players into two opposing teams.
• Complete the referee’s challenges as quickly as possible.
• Force the other team to run out of sand to win the round.

The first team to run out of sand loses the round. Keep competing until one team wins three rounds and earns the title of 20-Second Champions.
