About this board game

3D Labyrinth is a shifting-maze race for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 30 minutes. Players navigate changing paths, collect their treasures, and try to return to their home space before anyone else.

The board combines familiar Labyrinth gameplay with a striking 3D element. Some tiles are fixed in place, while the remaining maze tiles slide through rows created by those locked tiles. One tile is always outside the labyrinth, ready for the next player to insert.

  • Take the extra tile and slide it into a row.
  • Push the row’s tiles through the labyrinth, causing another tile to emerge on the opposite side.
  • Use the newly removed tile as the next player’s piece for changing the maze.

As the labyrinth shifts, players move through its passages in a race to collect various treasures. The maze is not only defined by walls and openings: players must also travel up and down between levels.

A player cannot jump more than one level at a time. This means a treasure may be blocked because it is at the wrong height, even when no wall stands in the way. You may also find yourself at the wrong height, requiring you to manipulate the maze until your position and your destination line up.

Whoever collects all of their treasures first and returns to their home space wins. Released in 2019, 3D Labyrinth adds height-based movement to the classic shifting-maze concept, creating a race where reaching the right place also means reaching the right level.
