About this expansion

Empires (fan expansion for 7 Wonders) is a fan-made expansion for 7 Wonders, listed for 3–8 players with an approximate play time of 60 minutes. Released in 2013, it introduces new ways to approach the classic civilization-building game.

The expansion offers three possible game modes, each intended to open up different options and styles of play. It also includes one variant that can be added to any game, giving groups another way to customize their experience.

Version 2, released on May 31, 2014, includes rebalanced Wonders, four additional Leaders, and seven additional Cities cards. These additions are intended to support fresh approaches and encourage repeated games with friends.

Empires is a fan expansion rather than an officially published commercial release. Repos gave permission for the expansion to be made, but it contains copyrighted materials, including icons and logos. As a result, print-on-demand companies do not have the right to print it.

The expansion is free for personal use and personal printing. It is no longer available through Print and Play Productions, and the designer is not seeking a new printing company. Players interested in trying these additional modes and components should therefore treat it as a personal-use fan project for 7 Wonders.
