About this expansion

A la carte: Dessert is an expansion for 2–5 players, with games lasting around 30 minutes. It adds gourmet desserts and new ways to prepare dishes to the A la carte experience, including Spice Dice, Salty Dogs, and the fiery Pomitos Frititos.

The expansion contains four mini-expansions and the components needed to add a fifth player. Each module introduces a distinct element, allowing players to work with new dishes, spices, and objectives while preparing their recipes.

With Menus, each player receives three options before the game begins and secretly chooses one. If the player successfully prepares the dishes shown on the selected menu, they receive extra victory points at the end of the game. If not, they receive no bonus points. Some menus also require the player to have at least one star.

• New Coffee Cups: The Trash Can lets a player take a dish from the trash can instead of choosing one from the table. The Flavor Neutralizer removes one chosen spice, including salt, from the player’s pan and from the game.
• Salt Dishes: Five different salt dishes join the other dishes. They are cooked normally, but require salt only.
• Spice Mixing: A new spice bottle contains five grains of each of four different spices, for 20 grains total, with no salt inside.

These additions give A la carte: Dessert a collection of secret goals, specialized dishes, unusual coffee cups, and a dedicated spice supply. Choose a menu, manage the contents of your pan, and try to complete the right dishes for valuable bonus points.
