About this board game

Algomancy is an expandable cube-style drafting card game for 2–10 players, with games lasting around 180 minutes. Players take the role of Algomancers competing for control of an AI simulation by manipulating the source code of its world.

Use Algomantic powers to cast spells, summon armies, and augment game objects to change their capabilities. These tools create a direct conquest experience in which players adapt their strategies and battle to vanquish the opposition and become the last one standing.

The game supports several ways to build and play, making its drafting system central to different group sizes and styles:

  • Dynamic draft: Draft hands from a communal deck during the game, adapting your strategy as the battle develops. This mode works best for 2–5 players.
  • Pre-draft or cube draft: Draft a constructed deck before play using a traditional drafting method. It works best for 6–10 players, who can play 1v1 matches or larger free-for-all and team games.
  • Constructed: Build decks from the card pool and challenge other players who have done the same. This format supports any number of players.
  • Team constructed: Teams create a group deck and draft from it during the game, with the format working best for six players in a 3v3 structure.

Whether you prefer adapting on the fly or preparing a deck before the first clash, Algomancy combines CCG-like player interaction with flexible drafting and multiple game modes. Shape the simulation, develop your forces, and pursue control of the world through clever use of its card pool.
