Alien vs Predator: The Hunt Begins (Second Edition) is a tactical board game for 1–3 players, with sessions lasting about 120 minutes. Players control Alien Xenomorphs, Predators, or Human Colonial Marines as they clash aboard the derelict USCSS Theseus.

Each Force brings a distinct identity to the battle. Xenomorphs lurk in the shadows, waiting for moments of weakness and seeking new hosts for the brood. Colonial Marines rely on training and advanced equipment, while the mysterious Predators are brutal extra-terrestrial Hunters.

The game offers a variety of challenging scenarios, including a 10-mission campaign connected by a narrative story. Players can also choose between Basic and Advanced rules, making it easier for newcomers to begin while offering additional depth for experienced players.

• The Last Stand: Play cooperatively as Marines or Predators against a Xenomorph horde controlled by the game.
• Three playable Forces: Experience different skills and styles through the Xenomorphs, Predators, and Colonial Marines.
• Sandbox design: The game is intended to be fully moddable, with future add-ons designed to expand its world.

In The Last Stand mode, players aim to destroy Xenomorph spawning points while the alien horde carries out its assault. This provides a cooperative alternative to the Force-versus-Force battles.

The Second Edition includes redesigned miniatures with dynamic poses and built-in terrain bases. The models are unicast and ready to play straight from the box, while a protective foam insert helps keep them safe during storage. Revamped artwork and redesigned tiles complete the updated presentation of Alien vs Predator.
