About this board game

Alpujarras is a turn-based farming game for 1–4 players, with play taking about 60 minutes. Set during the great Arab Agricultural Revolution, it places you in the role of a fruit farmer working to cultivate the hillsides and deliver crops to nearby villages.

The landscape of the Alpujarra has been transformed by innovative irrigation channels and terracing techniques. In the game, players use different actions to develop their farms, grow fruit, and bring their harvest to the towns, where it is sold for dinars.

Each player moves a mule around an action track positioned outside the game board. Rather than following a fixed turn order, the player whose mule is furthest behind takes the next turn, then moves the mule to an action space to perform that action.

Available actions include:

• Placing a farmer
• Moving a farmer
• Expanding an irrigation channel

These actions work together as players develop their farmland and produce fruit for delivery. Careful movement around the action track determines when you act and which opportunities you can pursue.
