Anchors Aweigh!

About this board game

Anchors Aweigh! is a 30-minute adventure game for 2–4 players, released in 2018. Across two rounds, players equip their ships, respond to adventure cards, and convert their haul into money.

Each player begins with a ship that holds twelve items, including four spaces beneath the deck that remain hidden from other players. Equipment tiles are placed in the center of the table, while thirteen adventure cards are arranged around them. When the cards are revealed, everyone races to fill their ship using only one hand, including two colored goods in the special slots. The first player to finish collects the cards, so the others must complete their ships without seeing what is coming.

The adventure cards are then shuffled and revealed one at a time. Their effects create different ways to manage your equipment and goods:

• Discovery: Discard the equipment shown to receive goods or money.
• Trade: Exchange one good for the goods shown on the other side of the card.
• Pirates: Choose to fight or flee. Fighting requires the displayed equipment but can provide a reward.
• Contract: Discard the required goods to claim the listed monetary reward.

At the end of each round, every remaining good becomes one coin. Each group of ten coins becomes a treasure chest placed in an empty space on your ship, reducing the room available for the second leg of the journey. The second round plays nearly identically to the first, but with less space on board.

Manage limited storage, make quick equipment choices, and respond to each card as you pursue the highest total. In Anchors Aweigh!, the player with the most money at the end wins.
