About this board game
Argo is a 2016 board game for 2–4 players, with play typically lasting around 90 minutes. A group of astronauts awakens from hibernation to discover that a mysterious space station is under attack and heading toward destruction.
As alarms flash and the evacuation begins, the crew must explore the station while horrible alien monsters close in. The apparent goal is to reach the shuttles, but their seats are limited, so not everyone can escape.
This creates a frantic, competitive race in which other astronauts may become obstacles—or even bait used to hold the aliens back while you run. Every move toward safety can affect the survival chances of the entire group.
- Players: 2–4
- Play time: approximately 90 minutes
- Core challenge: explore the station and reach the shuttles
- Central tension: compete for limited escape seats while facing the alien threat
Although Argo is fundamentally competitive, cooperation remains necessary. If too many crew members die, the aliens win, meaning individual ambition must be balanced against the survival of everyone still trapped aboard.
The result is a tense struggle between self-preservation and uneasy teamwork. Decide when to help, when to push ahead, and how much danger others can absorb before the aliens overwhelm the station. Argo is also available for turn-based online play through Yucata.
