About this board game

Ars Victor is a fast-paced tactical combat board game for two players, with battles lasting about 60 minutes. Command a furious fighting force of the future against a ferocious foe in a tense race to reduce your opponent’s Glory to zero.

Before the battle begins, recruit your armies, scout a unique map, draw a hand of Command Cards, and deploy your Vanguard. Once the fighting starts, each turn centers on playing a Command Card to activate one or more of your units.

  • Move units across the battlefield and attack enemy forces.
  • Contest the three Capture Points in the middle of the board.
  • Protect your Headquarters while pressuring your opponent.
  • Use terrain and Special Abilities to affect combat dice.

Combat is resolved with a single roll of multiple colored dice. Their quantity and color can change depending on the terrain and the Special Abilities involved, while simple icons on the dice show the results.

Every battlefield success chips away at the enemy’s Glory. Glory never increases, so the score creates a constant back-and-forth race toward zero, with every attack and defensive decision carrying weight.

Ars Victor combines straightforward turns with tactical choices across a changing battlefield. Decide which units to activate, where to move them, and how to contest the central objectives while keeping your Headquarters alive. Released in 2013, it delivers focused two-player conflict with a clear objective and continually shifting combat decisions.
