About this board game
Assembly is a quick solo or cooperative puzzle card game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 20 minutes. Use limited commands to arrange room modules around a partially completed spaceship, match them to the blueprint, and escape an orbital platform.
A deadly virus has wiped out the platform’s staff, while the computer has locked down the systems, undocked the ships, and begun venting oxygen. You appear to be naturally immune, but survival depends on completing the one ship still on the assembly line before it is too late.
In Assembly, your hand of Command Cards lets you Draw, Swap, and Rotate Room Modules. Move the modules around the ship until each one sits on its matching Blueprint, then lock it into place to build your escape vessel.
- Play solo or cooperatively with up to four players.
- Use a variable setup, several role cards, and optional malfunctions for changing challenges.
- In two-player games, limited communication adds another layer of difficulty.
- Try optional sign language instead of verbal communication.
No two games need to be the same: the setup, available roles, and optional malfunctions can all influence your strategy. Malfunctions activate when modules are locked, forcing you to adapt while you assemble the ship.
With two base sets, you can also play the double-ring variant for 1–4 players. Whether you are coordinating commands or solving the puzzle alone, Assembly challenges you to use each action wisely and finish the ship before the oxygen runs out.
