Atlantis

About this board game

Atlantis is a family board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 45 minutes. Players race to escape the legendary city before the path to solid ground disappears, trying to save as many treasures as possible along the way.

The city of Atlantis and the safe ground are connected by a route of land tiles. Each player receives cards showing different drawings, matching land tiles, three pawns of one color, and a bridge. On a turn, a player discards a card and moves one pawn to the next tile displaying the same drawing.

After moving, the player may take the tile left behind and place it in their hand as victory points. A water tile then fills the gap, and the player draws a replacement card. As the game progresses, more of the route becomes water, making later crossings increasingly difficult.

• Move pawns by matching cards to land-tile drawings.
• Collect abandoned land tiles as victory points.
• Use a bridge or pay collected victory points to cross gaps.
• Save all three pawns on solid ground before the final recount.

The shrinking route forces players to consider when to advance, when to collect a tile, and how to overcome the widening gaps. A bridge can provide a direct way forward, while collected tiles may be spent to keep moving when the path is broken.

When every player has brought all three pawns to safe ground, the players recount their victory points. The player who reaches safety with the most points wins. With its card matching, disappearing path, and race against the rising water, Atlantis combines accessible family play with a steadily tightening escape challenge.
