About this board game

Attack! is a World War 2-era game of expansion and conflict for 2–6 players, with games lasting about 180 minutes. Set on a world map circa 1935, it delivers the flavor of the period through accessible rules rather than attempting to simulate the era.

Each player begins with a few regions, including a capital, and several military units. Players grow their power bases by adding regions to their sphere of influence. A region may join through diplomacy, or be taken through military conquest.

Attack! combines three main systems. Land combat gives Infantry, Tanks, Artillery, and Air units advantages based on their historical roles. At sea, Battleships, Carriers, Destroyers, and Submarines use a similarly straightforward system reflecting their distinct functions.

The economic system determines production through cards. Players start with one card for each region they own and gain another whenever they add a region. Cards represent Resources, Factories, Transport Network, Oil, or Population, with printed values representing a region’s base economic value. Completing a set of the four economic suits doubles the printed value on those cards.

The base map centers on the Atlantic and can be expanded with Asia, Australia, and the Pacific. Additional expansions include the Attack! Expansion, Attack! Deluxe Expansion, and a 7–8 Player Expansion with two additional armies. With its blend of diplomacy, conquest, combat, and production, Attack! offers a streamlined route into global strategy.
