About this expansion

Attack!: Expansion is a 2–6 player geopolitical strategy game for approximately 180 minutes, adding political influence, technology, trade routes, and oil management to Attack!.

Each turn, players receive three options from a broad menu of actions. They can move military units, play political cards, attempt a diplomatic blitz, begin a trade-route auction, purchase units, research technology, trade with another player, or make a strategic land, sea, or air move.

Politics gives every player nation and minor nation one of four affiliations: Fascist, Monarchy, Democracy, or Communism. Political cards can spread propaganda, influence minor governments, overthrow them, support friendly governments, conduct espionage, or trigger other internal political actions. Building a sphere of influence becomes a central part of the diplomatic struggle.

Trade Route cards are auctioned to the highest bidder and function as economic wild cards that can help create sets. They generally offer higher-than-normal economic values, but blockades or submarine warfare can block or destroy them. Oil also gains strategic importance: moving tank, air, or naval units requires oil from a player’s reserve, which can be replenished only by using oil cards for that purpose instead of using them in the economy that turn.

• Components: An Eastern Hemisphere board, 360 military pieces across six colors, government counters, economics cards, 24 technology cards, 72 political action cards, and production-point and oil-reserve certificates.
