About this board game
Avenue is a quick family game for 1–10 players that takes about 15 minutes to play. Each player draws a network of roads on their player sheet, working to connect farms and castles to valuable grapes.
Every round, a card reveals the type of road that must be drawn. The available road types shape each player’s network, creating a constant need to adapt plans as the game develops. Some of these cards are marked as scoring cards, adding an important timing element to every decision.
When the fourth scoring card is drawn, a new farm is scored. The order in which farms will be scored is revealed one by one throughout the game, so players do not know the complete scoring sequence from the start. This changing information encourages flexible strategies rather than a single fixed plan.
- Draw roads according to the revealed card.
- Connect farms and castles to grapes across your network.
- Adapt as the order of farm scoring becomes known.
- Balance immediate points against the challenges of later scoring.
During a scoring, you earn points for every grape connected to the farm being evaluated. However, greed can create problems: if that farm is not connected to more grapes than your previous farm, you lose points. Strong early results can therefore make later scoring more difficult.
This tension keeps Avenue exciting until the end. With little downtime and room for up to ten players, it offers a fast, engaging challenge built around road drawing, evolving information, and careful score management.
