Balconia

About this board game

Balconia is a two-player board game played in about 20 minutes, where players build an apartment complex block by block across a 5×5 grid.

Every resident has different preferences. Some want balconies surrounded by flowers, some are delighted to see cats on neighboring balconies, and others simply want a peaceful place to take a long nap. Your challenge is to keep everyone as happy as possible while completing the complex.

Each building block has four sides, with a different face on each side. On a turn, one player draws a token to determine which block must be placed. That player then chooses which two sides of the block they might receive and which two sides are left for their opponent.

The other player decides where to place the building block in the developing complex. Afterward, the players swap roles for the next turn, creating a changing balance between control over the block and control over its position.
