About this expansion
BattleTech: Solaris VII – The Game World is a 1991 BattleTech supplement for two players, with an approximately 180-minute play time. It brings the dangerous arena culture of Solaris VII to the tabletop, where gladiatorial ’Mech combat, wealth, and survival are inseparable.
At the heart of the box is the BattleMech Dueling System, a BattleTech expansion for running one-to-one tactical combat. It adds more tactical options for head-to-head engagements, challenging players to use their skills as they face an opponent across arenas filled with obstacles and danger.
Solaris VII is designed for use with BattleTech and MechWarrior. Alongside its dueling rules, it presents the Game World as a setting of deadly matches and nightly intrigues, including the activity surrounding Thor’s Shieldhall.

The setting frames every contest as a gamble: victory can bring riches, while a mistake can prove fatal. Players sprint through labyrinths of obstacles, fire weapons, round corners, and charge their foes while warning lights flash.
For fans of the BattleTech universe, Solaris VII expands the standard experience with a focused format for one-on-one ’Mech combat and a detailed look at the Game World. Its arena maps, setting material, and dueling system combine tactical encounters with the high-stakes atmosphere of Solaris City.
