About this expansion

Black Rose Wars: Crono Expansion is a 1–4 player board game expansion with an approximately 90-minute play time, released in 2019. It introduces a legendary scenario set inside the Black Rose Lodge in Prague, where a dangerous encounter awaits the mages brave enough to enter.

Crono is a construct from many eras ago and the keeper of the Black Rose Lodge. Over the years, many have mistaken him for a Titan or giant, but few have survived long enough to tell the story of meeting him.

Powered by the vital energy of his victims, Crono cannot synthesize the energy he needs himself. Instead, he drains it from his prey, leaving behind a grim image: a dying body hanging from his flesh before meeting its own tragic end.

The expansion’s linked scenario takes place in the Lodge’s Vendetta room. This room replaces certain game boards from the core box, creating a distinctive setting for the encounter with Crono.

Once they enter Crono’s room, mages have the possibility of using one of its four activation tokens—but doing so comes with significant risk and peril. Black Rose Wars: Crono Expansion adds a threatening new narrative setting centered on an ancient keeper, his grim source of power, and a room where every choice carries danger.
