About this board game

BrilliAnts is a strategic ant-colony game for 1–6 players, with an average play time of 80 minutes. As a new Queen, you must establish a nest, gather food, and prepare your colony for the coming winter while following directives from headquarters.

Players take turns choosing one action at a time: lay an egg, move an ant, or displace a predator. A round is divided between days and nights and ends once everyone has moved all their ants, laid one egg, and moved a predator. Temperature can also provide slight advantages to particular ant types.

Three kinds of ants support your colony in different ways: warriors, engineers, and farmers. Ants gather different resources, including insects, plants, and clay, while predators can destroy tiles containing specific resources. The shared board becomes a contested forest where players chase prey, harvest plants, and establish territories with pheromones.

On your individual board, you dig your nest and create new holes that let ants move faster on the surface. Each player begins with three hidden objective cards and gains additional cards during the game, placing them in the nest headquarters according to their strategy. With a maximum hand size of four objectives, resource management is essential.

For experienced players, BrilliAnts includes individual player powers and power cards. Each participant begins with five power cards, which can be played at any time during their turn. Explore different routes to victory and try to make your colony the one that gathers the most victory points.
