About this board game
Build Up is a tower-building game for 2–6 players, with play lasting approximately 30 minutes. Using twenty blocks in a variety of sizes and shapes, players compete to construct a tower while trying to make the next player topple it.
The available building pieces are determined by cards. This card-driven system guides which blocks players can use, creating changing construction possibilities throughout the game. Every placement matters as the tower grows.
The objective is not simply to add another block. Players must place a block in such a way that it causes the next player to topple the tower. Success depends on judging the available shapes and sizes, then choosing a placement that leaves a difficult structure for the opponent who follows.
- Twenty blocks with various sizes and shapes
- Cards that determine which blocks are available
- Competitive tower building for 2–6 players
- Approximately 30 minutes of play time
With its focused objective and physical tower-building challenge, Build Up centers every decision on balance, placement, and the actions of the next player. The changing selection of available blocks keeps the construction task tied to the cards in play.
Released in 2014, Build Up offers a compact competitive experience for groups looking for a direct stacking game. Build the tower, assess the pieces available, and attempt to make your placement the one that sends the structure—and the next player’s chances—toppling.
