Bullfrog Goldfield is a stock trading game for 2–5 players, playable in about 240 minutes, set during Nevada’s 1905 gold and silver rush near Death Valley.

Players compete to profit from the discovery of valuable ore. Success depends on developing mines to acquire it, constructing towns to support miners, and laying railroads to transport the ore away from the desert.

Competition can be brutal as rival railroads race across the desert to reach mines first. Fortunes rise and fall with the mineral veins, while hostile takeovers threaten holdings that players have worked hard to establish.

Although Bullfrog Goldfield features uncertainty, its luck is tightly focused. Only the development of mines brings chance into the game; elsewhere, outcomes are determined without luck. This creates a contest where planning, timing, and competition shape the changing fortunes of the players.

From the rush for mineral-rich ground to the struggle for transportation routes, every development contributes to the fight for wealth. Players must build their holdings while watching rivals’ expansion and protecting their position in a volatile stock market.
