Captain Sonar: Upgrade One is an expansion for 2–8 players that adds new elements to the submarine battle of the Captain Sonar base game, with a play time of 45 minutes.

In Captain Sonar, players take on roles aboard submarines in a fierce battle against rival players. This upgrade expands that experience with five new scenarios, offering additional ways to play the game.

The expansion also introduces new equipment and components for the submarine conflict. Its contents include:

• Five new scenarios
• Two new weapons
• Eight erasable markers
• Different ways to play the Captain and Radio Operator roles

The new role options focus on two positions within the submarine crew: the Captain and the Radio Operator. Alongside the additional scenarios, these alternatives add further variety to how those roles can be played.
