Card City XL

About this board game

Card City XL is a city-building board game for 1–4 players with a 45-minute play time, released in 2017. You take the role of a mayor and shape your city using a highly variable set of choices and rules.

Card City XL offers 240 ways to play. Select one of three levels of complexity, one of five victory conditions, and how many variants to use from a choice of four. The sixteen combinations created by the variant options combine with the complexity and victory-condition choices to create the full range of possibilities.

The game expands the Card City system with new draft possibilities and a new city size. It also introduces bicolored cards, giving the card set additional variety as you develop your city.

New rules add more interaction during the building phase, while new Pollution cards and Parc cards bring further elements to the game. The choices made before play help determine which version of the experience you will explore.

You are still the mayor of a city, but Card City XL gives you new abilities and new powers. With its multiple complexity levels, victory conditions, and variant combinations, it provides a broad range of ways to approach the same city-building foundation.
