Catan: Portable Edition is a 3–4 player board game that brings the familiar rules of Catan to a travel-friendly format, with an approximately 90-minute playing time. Released in 2002, it belongs to the Catan series and is designed for the regular game only.

The core rules remain the same, while the board uses a predetermined layout. The Desert hex always occupies the middle of the board, and production numbers are placed in fixed locations. Port sites are also fixed, although the type of port at a particular site may vary.
